Yes, Yes, I've been hiding out. First it was Easter, than it was my birthday, after that it was battle of the bands. Saturday night was Prom, but that gets its own post.

Happy Easter!
My Blog is 1 year old now. Thanks to all who visited me this past year.
Today is Easter. Please enjoy this picture of an Easter Lilly complements of the ASPCA who warns that this plant can be lethal to cats. Since I don't have a cat I don't think I'll worry too much about it. I'm really looking forward to this very fun and very busy week that the kiddos have off school. This is my last years Easter post.
This Easter season has been a very special one to me. If you've read my whole blog you know that last year I was saying "I'm not Catholic and WON'T be, because I am a protestant." Actually I said I was a pedestrian who carried the love of Jesus everywhere I walked (I still am). I said a lot of other things too, but we won't go there now. Last August my sweet DH and I started taking an R.C.I.A. program. We both really enjoyed it very much and found little we did not agree with. I don't feel the need to ask the Saints that have gone before me to pray for me, because I can ask people here now to do it. When I first started thinking about this it was awkward. Than I realized that if I believe that people are alive in heaven than why can't I ask them to pray for me. I still don't really feel comfortable asking Mary to pray for me either, but that doesn't affect my faith in her son. In December we were asked if we wanted to continue toward being Catholic and we both said yes. We could see what God was doing in the church and felt very comfortable there. I am so happy with the education that my children are receiving and the friends they are making. The class culminated last night in an Easter Vigil. It was a very beautiful service where we were welcomed into the church. I know that many of my protestant friends don't understand or agree with what we are doing. I can honestly say that I am not being coerced into anything and I am NOT joining the church to 'get the school discount.' Since I have been following God down this unexpected path he has poured out on us in a mighty way. I am very much enjoying the beauty that I find in the mass and I leave there going in peace to love and serve the Lord. I really have much to say about what God is doing for me through this, but I have other things I want to go do now.
Happy Easter!

So what do you want for Christmas?
Dh had told the kids that they could not open gifts until their rooms were clean. Since they have had upset stomachs the extended family decided not to visit us on Christmas Day. So I have 10 pounds of ham and not much fixins to go with it. I asked each kid what they wanted with the ham and decided to go to the store. About half way through the store I get a call. "Mom, when will you be home our rooms are clean." Usually we open at least 1 gift on Christmas Eve. We are planning to go to midnight mass which is at 11:00 not midnight.
Comming Soon the details of the amazing box I got today that contained my soap swap stuff...

And So Happy Christmas
I was going to show you a picture of the cute gift sacks we sent to teachers but alas, I seem to have lost a bunch of pictures. I also can't show you a picture of Sa all dressed up as Mary or the beautiful dancers at the schools closing program. Nor can I show you pictures of my handsome boy and the GIANT holiday choir singing songs. SIGH! I don't know what happened to the pictures, I remember uploading them.
I can however show you these pictures.
First is my sisters big lug of a dog who kept trying to sit on my lap while we were opening gifts.
Second is my beautiful Teen who was very surprised and thrilled with her holiday gifts. Someone special calls her Tomo-J Chan so my sisters had that engraved on a new ipod for her.
I got a stained glass angel and a very big Ohio State Fan made out quite well.
Last Night we had a big wind storm and we woke up to the grill having gone flying.
Party time ended early for us because 3 of my lovely, beautiful children seem to have a stomach bug of some kind and it became evident just after consuming lots of Holiday goodies that I spent most of yesterday making.

More Christmas Cheer
Today while I was surfing the blogs I visit regularly, some of which I have yet to post links too, I found this. Sea Spray writes a great blog! And, it is a wonderful life. The grammar police are probably going to visit me after this post.

Contact Sports
Easter egg hunting is a contact sport. I mean really! Since I am a mean mom I don’t do Easter baskets or gifts. I never wanted to have to explain about the Easter Bunny meeting Jesus. Usually we get together with my family on Easter but it did not happen this year. Dad took some of the kids to church and that was it. We had a nice quiet day at home, the kids dyed some eggs. Since we did not get together with my family and my kids were rather disappointed. So, I decided to be a nice mom and went out the day after and bought discount eggs and candy. Tuesday dawned beautiful and sunny and everyone was acting nice to each other so I decided it would be fun to have an egg hunt. The Teen and I went out into the side and back yard and dropped or hid eggs. I made sure to look around for those pesky neighborhood kids that I did not want close by for this. Since I was buying the candy at a discount I only bought the kinds I like. When all the eggs were down and the 3 littles had baskets I opened the door and let the carnage begin. I must admit I was shocked at the violent way my kids went after not only the eggs but each other. If 2 of them spotted an egg at the same time they just shoved the other one out of the way. Than 1 of them having just missed the egg took an egg out of the offending sibling’s basket to make up for it. So the offending sibling took an egg out of the offended’s basket and on it went. Finally all the eggs were picked up, (I had counted them ahead of time so I’d know if some were left in the yard) and we headed back into the house. OK really they were not that violent because I have exceptionally nice, patient, kind and gracious kids, but this is really something that should only happen once a year or 2 or 3. After choosing a space they opened their loot and agreed on how much hommage, tax they would pay to me. Than they sorted out their candy and started playing with it. The dang camera is still not working but they built the cutest cities with a Hershey’s kiss on top of a Reese’s cup that was an adult and a plain Hershey kiss was the kid the Kit Kat bars were the castle gates the snicker bars were the castle walls and I don’t remember what the peasants were. The town hall was the plastic egg stack in the middle. The game went on for a long time and was very fun to watch.

Easter Fun
The camera is still down so sadly I can't post pix of the eggs that were dyed here. The Boy, a chip off the old block, decided to have some Easter fun. He was busy coloring his hard boiled eggs and went to the fridge and got out a raw egg that he also dyed. Than he took the raw dyed egg and gave it to Cutie Pie neighbor girl. He encouraged her to eat it now so she cracked it on her front step. My Boy ROLLED with laughter at the mess.

Happy Easter
The time has come, 'the Walrus said, 'To talk of many things: Of shoes-- and ships-- and sealing wax-- of cabbages -- and kings -- and why the sea is... OH, WAIT, NO, STOP!
The time has come to talk about Easter. Jesus died and rose from the dead you can read more about that here, or here, or here.
I don't go to church on Easter. I just can't stand the 'look at my new clothes' thing. Or the people who show up twice a year at Christmas and Easter and expect you to acknowledge the huge effort they made to get there. I just smile and stay at home eating my chocolate bunnies and peeps.
I LOVE Easter humor. This is one of my favorites. Ya, know this will be hard with that stupid picture feature that won't let me put the pictures where I want them. Where is that HTML book???
I was surfing today and found a great blog with some really good Easter humor, you can see it here. I LOVE PEEPS! Favorite peep links forthcoming. Try this one or peep research, or peep surgery, Lord of the Peeps, and last but very much not least, everything else Peep Links (aak, blogger crashed and now I can't find it). Some of the links on the peep link page don't work but many are worth checking out. I found some more like here or peep overload... How about Romeo and Juliet? Biker peeps, Bunnies strike back, Passover Peeps, Rock and Roll history Peeps, crochet peeps, and the best one make your own DIY peeps.
