WOW! What a week! It has been so hot here I step outside and gasp for air. School started Thursday and it has been amazingly good. The kiddos were a little distraught because I made them walk home from school. Ya know its a whole 1/4 of a mile (up hill both ways barefoot in the snow...) Yes, it was hot and there is a slight hill toward our house, but all the packs have wheels. Both days I walked up to walk home with them. They left the school smiling each day. They told me about their days and I filled out reams of papers.

Oh Im glad school started off good for them! I have to drive my kids to and from.
You made then walk a 1/4 mile! Wow, you should be reported for cruelty!
Seriously though, I take my grandchildren to school. The school gates are on a busy road and become jammed with cars dropping children off, yet I know many of those kids live nearby. I'm in the UK, where few young children travel far to school. Those parents who drive - that's cruelty, depriving their kids of exercise and the chance to let off steam and talk about their day.

Sounds like a good week! My kids have been griping about walking home too, so they get their grandparents to drive them about half the time.
